The Hatfield Township Municipal Authority (HTMA) was incorporated in 1960 by the Township of Hatfield, under the Municipal Authorities Act of 1945, for the purpose of providing public sewer service to Hatfield Township. HTMA is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors appointed by the Hatfield Township Commissioners.

HTMA services Hatfield Township and Hatfield Borough, along with portions of Montgomery Township, Franconia Township, and Hilltown Township.

The purpose of the Authority is to collect and treat sewage from its customers, and to produce an effluent that meets stream discharge criteria imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
